Inter-Buddhist Youth Games - How it went...

I might says that it went better than expected... I heard that there were states players so I was happy to be able to go and meet new and old friends...

What we got was definitely more...

We managed to snatch 2 (read TWO) golds, one silver and one bronze from some of the games being played...

We managed to get gold for Basketball and Volleyball due to top performance from our players...

We also managed to get a silver for Tug Of War...

And we managed to get a bronze for the 100m run...

Thanks to all the people that come and participate and we hope that we would be able to go for the 3rd Inter-Buddhist Youth Fellowship Games next year...

Some updates 2010

Dear All,

It has been a long while since the last post. Youth Camp 14 is over and we are already in a new year. FYI, new group of committee members has been interviewed last week and I believe we can expect another installment of KCBA Dhamma Youth Camp at the end of the year.

Another thing that I would like to mention is that I have officially retired from the group. Thus, most of these posting of post here and updating our unofficial webpage would be pass on to another person soon.

Anyway, CNY is coming. And as tradition, there would be house hopping. If you are free, please join us for it. More information, contact past year committee members.

Lastly, wishing you a Happy and Prosperous Chinese New Year.

Limited "Seats" Available

Due to my lack of knowledge in words, I have to use the above word, Limited "Seats" Available, to convey the message that things would be handle differently this year.

For one, we would be limiting the number of participants for the KCBA English Dhamma Youth Camp to 80 person only. Furthermore, this would be done on a first come first serve basis as our all year round's preparation is done with this in mind.

So, if you are interested in joining our youth camp, please register early to avoid disappointment.

For your information, we have already received 12 participants, which means, there are only 68 "seats" left up for grab...

Retreat Camp: Message from Organizer

Retreat Camp 2008 is consider to be the most relaxing camp that I have ever organized. One of the main idea of the retreat camp is to demonstrate to the new generation of youth camp committees menbers that it is okay for them to be flexible throughout the camp, changing the style/approach of the camp depending on the situation while helping them to create a stronger bond between them. Another unexpected outcome of the retreat camp was the cooperativeness displayed by the super-seniors thoughout the camp, which I believe, would act as an example to the New Generation.

As someone who prefer to do hand-on activities, most of the "workshop" have a message in it and those participate would somehow learn that message while enjoying the "workshop".

Here are a list of "workshops" that were being played by them in the retreat camp

Screamer
Listmaster
Nine Dots
The Great Egg Drop
Game of Tags
Bean Business
Building Bridges

In between activities, we also managed to find some time to test out some possible activities for the Youth Camp and never forgetting, the favourite game of Mafia.

All in all, I hope those that participate in the retreat camp would somehow learn something and if I managed to offend you during the camp, I am sorry.

With Metta,

Bro Wei Han
